Last week was a lesson in discipline, with having to post a video a day for video blogging week. I have to admit, midway I thought I wouldn’t make it through. Especially with heavy work deadlines pressing.

But what kept me posting was knowing that others were doing the same and that people were watching. All the videos I saw were so personal and I can’t explain the feeling I got from having an inside look at a person’s life, or how they view the world, how we agreed and disagreed. It felt like I was connected on a global scale. Like we were all connnected and forming one big global family. No, as Ian and then Richard said – “You can’t do that in a podcast.”

Anyway, I would love to continue producing videos daily, but unfortunately it doesn’t pay the bills just yet (Hopefully someday! Cross fingers). But what I do want to do is post videos on a daily basis of things of special concern to me, or that I find interesting, or can help someone out in some way, or that is socially conscious. I will still post videos of my own life, and produce original content, but I like how discussions can be started through this medium. It’s unlike anything else that I’ve experienced thus far.

So keeping in line with that thought, I found this web site dedicated to a global call-to-action on overcoming AIDS, starvation, and extreme poverty – especially among children. If you have a couple of minutes, check out the short videos above. And if you have extra time, email Tony Blair (even if you’re not from the UK) and let him know that as a global family, we do care and that during the G8 summit in July, you’d like your voice heard.

Dylan and Vloggercon

Dylan is an 11 year old vlogger, actually the world’s youngest vlogger according to the news. Her dad Michael is coming to NYC for the vloggercon, and Dylan wants to come with him. The obstacle is the cost of travel.

So if you want to foster a little girl’s dream…(we need more girls and women involved in video / filmmaking / technology), help her out.

[Edit] 01/07/05 : Dylan reached her goal. There are nice people out there…
